Dray, 66, of Pittsburg, passed away at 1:06 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin. She was born July 6, 1943 at Salinas, California, the daughter of Wayne E. and Opal M. (Knight) Buchanan. She moved to Pittsburg when she was two years old. Sharron graduated from Pittsburg High School and attended Pittsburg State University. On November 17, 1962, she was united in marriage to Roland "Raymond" Dray at St. John Lutheran Church in Pittsburg. He survives at the family home.... Read More	Sharron K. She was born July 6, 1943 at Salinas, California, the daughter of Wayne E. and Opal M. (Knight) Buchanan. She moved to Pittsburg when she was two years old. Sharron graduated from Pittsburg High School and attended Pittsburg State University. On November 17, 1962, she was united in marriage to Roland "Raymond" Dray at St. John Lutheran Church in Pittsburg. He survives at the family home. Membership was held in St. John Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Christy Cooper and her husband, Darren of Pittsburg and Kim Dray of Colorado; her granddaughter, Kelci Cooper of Pittsburg; two aunts, Irene Miller of Olathe, KS and Opal Fravel of Conway, AR; and three cousins, Linda Peaks and her husband, Jeff of Kansas City, Mark Bickel and his wife, Vickie of Kansas City, and Eddie Semonick of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant half-brother, and two aunts, Rosalie Semonick and Edna Mae Knight. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday (June 18) at the Brenner Mortuary with Rev. Tom Wehrman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Brenner Mortuary, where friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Angels Among Us or SEK Humane Society. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Buchanan, 80, of 1011 N. Fairview, died at 8:38 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000 at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born July 21, 1919, at Scammon, to Albert and Lillie Jones Knight. She lived most her life in the Scammon and Pittsburg area, except for a short time when she lived in California. She graduated from Columbus Unified High School. She married Wayne E. Buchanan on Dec. 23, 1940, at Nowata, Okla. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1978, at Pittsburg. She worked in the Scammon Post Office for three years. After moving to Pittsburg, she worked for the Jones Store Company for eight years. She later worked for Montgomery Ward, where she managed the children's department for 20 years before she retired. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Pittsburg. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Dray, of 1101 N. Fairview; two granddaughters, Christy Cooper, of 1119 E. 11th St., and Kim Dray, of Arizona; a great-granddaughter, Kelci Cooper, of 1119 E. 11th St., all of whom helped provide for her care; and two sisters, Irene Miller, of Olathe, and Rosalie Semonick, of Scammon. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Mae Knight. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, with Pastor James Banner officiating. Burial will follow the services. Friends are requested to meet at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, to go in procession to the cemetery.
