Sheila was born on October 20, 1937, to Martin and Marie Patten. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Neola in 1954. She worked at Farmers and Merchants State Bank for many years. Sheila is survived by her husband, Fred; four sons, Jeff and wife, Marlene, of Flora Vista, N.M., Greg and wife, Diana, of Neola, Lee and wife, Sandy, of Council Bluffs and Ralph of Naples, Fla.; three daughters, Karlene Hazelton and husband, Steve, of Omaha, Neb., Jennifer Smith and husband, Fred, of Minden, and Rebecca of Houston, Texas; and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Alvin Patten, of Council Bluffs and two sisters, Jean Thomas of Norfolk, Neb. and Gloria Swenka of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
