Description	:	From The Grand Island Independent: Shirley M. Borre, 73, of Grand Island died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. There will be no services. Mrs. Borre was cremated. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach at a later date. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Borre was born Aug 2, 1929 in Wolbach to Hans and Genieve (Risor) Knudsen. She received her education at Wolbach High School where she graduated high school. Mrs. Borre was born Aug 2, 1929 in Wolbach to Hans and Genieve (Risor) Knudsen. She received her education at Wolbach High School where she graduated high school. She married Donald Borre on July 3, 1950 in Omaha. The couple made their home in Omaha until 1962 when they moved to Chicago where her husband was a regional manager for Continental Trailways. At the time of her husband's death, the couple was living in Bartlett, Illinois. She later moved to Grand Island. She enjoyed working as a volunteer at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary NO. 53, both of Grand Island. Survivors include one brother, Richard Knudsen of Burnsville, N. C. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald.
