Mrs. Corbett lived in Topeka before she moved to Beattie four years ago. She was born April 17, 1927, at Beattie, the daughter of Martin E. and Maida M. Boggs McMahon. She attended Beattie schools and K-State, where she earned a teaching certificate. She taught school for several years at Snipe Creek and Beattie before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1949. Mrs. Corbett lived in Topeka before she moved to Beattie four years ago. She was born April 17, 1927, at Beattie, the daughter of Martin E. and Maida M. Boggs McMahon. She attended Beattie schools and K-State, where she earned a teaching certificate. She taught school for several years at Snipe Creek and Beattie before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1949. She served as a nursing aide on Military Air Transport Service planes during the Korean conflict and later in London. She held the rank of Yeoman, 3rd Class when she was discharged in 1954. She worked for several years for Kansas Power and Light in Topeka. She was married to James E. Corbett April 22, 1966 in Topeka. They were divorced. Survivors include a son, Frederick William Corbett, Beattie; two daughters: Janet Ann Corbett and Patricia Kay Corbett, both of Beattie; two brothers, Martin McMahon, Bartlesville, Okla., and Ronald McMahon, Overland Park, and three sisters: Audrey Schneider, Portland Ore., Virginia Schneider, Monmouth, Ore., and her twin, Charlene McMahon, stationed with the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, Africa. Services will be at 9 a. m. Saturday at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Beattie. Graveside services will be 1 p. m. Saturday at Mission Center Cemetery. Added by JH Find A Grave contributor JH
