Description	:	Minneapolis Messenger Ocotber 13, 1887 Ada The funeral of Silas Elliott was the largest ever witnessed in Ada. There was 62 teams that followed the remains and 6 or 8 remained at the house of went home from the house. He being an old soldier was honored by a full representation of the G.A.R.s to accompany him to his last resting place. New York, Jan. 25, 1834. In early life he came to Illinois, removing then to Missouri and from there to Kansas where he has lived for sixteen years. He spent three years in the army during the late war. He was for many years a member of the Baptist church. The funeral services were held at the house Oct. 6, and conducted by Rev. E.B. Tucker assisted by Rev. T.J. McCurry. A very large concourse followed the remains to the grave where services were held by Griffin Post G.A.R. of which the deceased was a member. E.B.T.
