Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Big Timber Lutheran church with Rev. Webster Clement, pastor of the English Lutheran church in Livingston, officiating. Music was by Mrs. Ted C. Busha, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Mervin Sell. Pallbearers were Abraham Grosfield, Oscar Forsythe, Jacob Johnson, John Peterson, Martin Olson, and Norman Norman. Honorary pallbearers were Mervin Sell, Emil Johnson, Thos. Anderson, William McCauley, Ole Braaten, Henry McCauley, Thorvald Aalgaard, Oscar Vik, Harold Boe, Ed Braaten, and Sivert Bakke. Burial was in Mountain View. Mr. Raisland was born near Egerson, Norway, on October 25, 1870. He came to the United States when a young man, working in Minnesota and Wisconsin before coming to Sweet Grass county in 1890. He worked around Big Timber and Melville for a few years and in 1902 took out a homestead on the American Fork, now a part of the McFarland ranch. Mr. Raisland was married to Christina Langhus in 1903 and four years later they moved to a ranch on Wildcat creek in the Gibson area where they resided for 30 years. They moved to town in 1939 but Mr. Raisland continued his interest in his stock. Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters Mrs. Ludwig Allestad of Big Timber and Mrs. Chris Boe of Springdale, and Mrs. Palmer Peterson of Reed Point; two sons, Selmer Raisland of Big Timber and Ben Raisland of Reed Point, and one brother, Martin Raisland, in Norway; also 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
