Description	:	SOPHIA 4th child of Austin and Mehetable (Bartlett) Loud Sophia Loud was born in Westhampton, Ma. and moved with her parents to Kirtland, Ohio in 1832, and then to Huntsburg, Ohio in 1836. Her husband, Oren Clark, was born in Huntsburg, Ohio, son of Ebenezer and Lucy (Phelps) Clark. He was a Farmer. They first settled in the southeastern part of the town, where they remained a number of years, but becoming affected with the “Western Fever” they immigrated to Iowa. Read More	SOPHIA 4th child of Austin and Mehetable (Bartlett) Loud Sophia Loud was born in Westhampton, Ma. and moved with her parents to Kirtland, Ohio in 1832, and then to Huntsburg, Ohio in 1836. Her husband, Oren Clark, was born in Huntsburg, Ohio, son of Ebenezer and Lucy (Phelps) Clark. He was a Farmer. They first settled in the southeastern part of the town, where they remained a number of years, but becoming affected with the “Western Fever” they immigrated to Iowa. The climate disagreed with them and they returned to their former home, where for several years they had rented large dairy farms for making butter and cheese. On September 5, 1864, Oren enlisted in the 177th Regiment Ohio Volunteers. First he went to Nashville, from there to Murfreesboro, Fort Fisher, Andersonville and then to Wilmington, N.C. He was at Raleigh, N.C. at the surrender of Gen. Lee and his army. In 1898 they resided at Windsor Mills, Astabula County, Ohio. Feb. 14, 1867 d. Jan. 1, 1890 9. Grace Harriet Clark b. Sep. 27, 1872 d. 1957 Oren Clark and his wife, Sophia Loud, died at, or near, Windsor Mills, Ohio. The picture of them was given to the author for reproduction in 1970 by their granddaughter, Iona Jemison. The Clark family said Oren Clark was spelled with an “e” and not Orin as other histories have shown. They also told the author that Oren Clark was born in 1824, not 1823, as previously published.
