When eight years of age she came to this country with her parents, who settled in Morrisson, Ill. In 1874 she was converted and baptized in the Baptist church of that place. Read More	Died at the Methodist hospital at Omaha, Saturday, March 9, at 10 p. m., Sophia, wife of E. T. Pester. Sophia Wythers was born at Islam, England, November 15, 1858. When eight years of age she came to this country with her parents, who settled in Morrisson, Ill. In 1874 she was converted and baptized in the Baptist church of that place. In 1879 she came to Fillmore county with her parents and in 1888 she was married to E. T. Pester. They moved to their present home in Chelsea thirteen years ago. She was a loving wife and mother, a good neighbor in the time of need. The beautiful floral offering from the lodge and friends showed in what high esteem she was held. She will be greatly missed in her home and the community. She is not lost but gone before. She leaves a husband, one daughter, mother, father, four brothers and two sisters, all of whom were present at the funeral but the mother who was not able to attend and a sister who resides at Halsey. No 81 Front page ALSO: PESTER – At the Methodist hospital in Omaha, Saturday night, March 9, 1907, Sophia, wife of Thomas Pester of Chelsea township, aged 48 years, 3 months and 22 days. Sophia Wythers was born November 15, 1858. She was married to Thomas Pester. She is survived by her husband. She was baptized into the Baptist church at Morriston, Ill., when she was sixteen years of age. Early last week in hope of saving her life she was taken to an Omaha hospital for a surgical operation. At first great hope was entertained for recovery but she had not sufficient strength to rally and the end came Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Pester were among the older residents of the county. They have always been held in high regard and Mrs. Pester's death came as a great shock to the community. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Human Wythers of Geneva. Her husband and aged parents have the sympathy of many friends in their grief. Her closing moments were conscious and she told her husband that she was ready for a change. The remains arrived from Omaha over the Burlington Monday afternoon. The funeral was held immediately from the First Baptist church and was conducted by Rev. F. L. Brooks.
