Both her obituary and her death certificate confirm her date of death was November 23, 1925. Hopewell—Mrs. Sophrona Bradshaw, wife of Capt. A. T. Bradshaw, a very highly esteemed lady of Hopewell, died at her home on Monday, November 23rd, at 8.30 p.m., after an illness of about a week. Although she had been in failing health for quite a while, her death came as a shock to her friends. The deceased was 69 years old, was born and reared in Fairmount and was the daughter of the late Noah and Harriett Thomas. She was a devout christian lady and had been a member of St. Peters church for a number of years; of a kind and generous disposition, she was a friend to all and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Capt. A. T. Bradshaw; three sisters—Mrs. Oma Crouch, of Baltimore, Mrs. Delia Ford and Mrs. Katie Prather, of Washington, D.C. and one brother, William Thomas, of Fairmount. Funeral services were held in St. Peters Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Arthur Hudson, assisted by Rev. R. H. Wilson, of Marion Station.
