Description	:	Stephen Roger Campbell Belzer, son of Felix and Hannah Belzer was born September 30, 1848 at Rockwell Indiana and died at his home in East Des Moines Township on February 12, 1938 at the age of 89 years four months and 13 days. He was United in marriage to Maria Jane Kennedy, who proceeded him in death five years ago. To this union were born eight children, to dying in infancy. He is survived by the children. Mrs. Grace Ruttan of Albia Iowa, Ally C Belzer, Mrs. Mattie Lee and Mrs. Blanche Hamaker all of Givin, Iowa; Guy C. Belzer of Oskaloosa and Chan E. Belzer of Centerville. 19 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. He was the last of a family of eight children. He came from Indiana to Missouri with his parents when he was four years of age. Moving to Iowa in 1861 at the age of 13. With the exception of a short time spent in Missouri he lived the rest of his life in Mahaska County. To his family he was a kind and loving father to his many friends he was Uncle Steve. Funeral services were held from the Powers funeral home in Oskaloosa Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Dr. C.M. Edmundson, pastor of the central Methodist Episcopal Church in Oskaloosa, officiating.
