Description	:	Stephen was the son of Alexander Angelovic and his wife, Catherine (Katherine) Bartus. Stephen's father, Alexander, was born in March, 1879 in Torysa, Sabinov, Slovakia, as were both of his parents. (According to Alexander's Baptismal records from the Catholic church in that town. ) However, on their son Stephen's marriage record, it states Alexander was born in Hungary. (According to Alexander's Baptismal records from the Catholic church in that town. ) However, on their son Stephen's marriage record, it states Alexander was born in Hungary. Another record states his was born in Austria. While reading of the history of the area, during the time of Alexander's birth, this region was part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. So, I think all of those places could be construed as Alexander's birthplace; however, the best would still be where his birth and baptism were recorded. Catherine went by "Katie." She was born in November, 1881, also in Austria. Her parents were also Austrian. Once again, the 1900 census says Austria yet son Stephen's marriage record says Poland. Stephen had one brother, John (1900-1971), and three sisters: Mary, (1902-2001); Josephine, aka Josie, (1905-1998); and Katherine, aka Katie, (1898-1997). All of Alexander and Katie's children were born in Wyoming. Alexander, Stephen's father, was a coal miner who once told his children that he had worked for a dollar a day. The 1900 Federal Census states he immigrated in 1896. Katie immigrated in 1898. The 1910 Census has the family living at 306 6th St. in Rock Springs, Wyoming. This census states that Alexander immigrated in 1895 and Katie in 1900. At this time Katie had had 5 children, with all of them living. Stephen met Cecilia Anna McGrath on a blind date. They were married in Pomeroy, Garfield Co., Washington on June 23, 1938. The couple had five children; one girl and four boys. Their daughter, Frances, was stillborn (1940). Their sons were: Gary Michael (1939), Thomas Edward (1943), John Patrick (1946), and Peter Joseph (1950-2003). Stephen was the first college graduate in his family, having graduated from the University of Wyoming. His sons had "firsts" of their own. Michael is the first priest in the family, Thomas Edward is the first doctor and Patrick is the first teacher. Patrick also owned and operated the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill in Cody, Wyoming for 23 years. Peter Joseph was also a restaurant owner. All of Stephen and Cecilia's children were born and raised in Seattle. Stephen worked for the General Services Administration of the U.S. Goverment while Cecilia kept house for the family. Both Stephen and Cecilia died in Seattle. Cecilia passed away in 1968 and Stephen followed on October 3, 1975. They are buried in Calvary Cemetery along with their baby daughter Frances.
