Description	:	Stuart Charles Nicholson passed away on Nov. 28, 2007 at his home in Livingston. He was born on Jan. 15, 1924, in Big Timber. He was one of five children born to Stuart and Avhild Nicholson. He graduated from Sweet Grass High School in 1941. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1943-1946. He was born on Jan. 15, 1924, in Big Timber. He was one of five children born to Stuart and Avhild Nicholson. He graduated from Sweet Grass High School in 1941. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1943-1946. Chuck graduated from the St. Louis College of Mortuary Science in 1948. This same year, he married Carol (Lady) Meissner. They raised four children and enjoyed 59 wonderful years together. Chuck was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Big Timber American Legion. While residing in Big Timber, he worked with his father and brother at their grocery store, Nicholson's Market. He owned the Locker Plant and later the City Club Lanes Bowling Alley. After moving to Livingston, Chuck managed Lowry Funeral Home. He truly cared for the families he worked with. He then owned Nicholson's Restaurant and Candy Store, and was Mayor of Livingston from 1977-79 and from 1983-85. He is survived by his four children, Tom (Laura) Nicholson, Nancy Nicholson (Don), Carrie Nicholson, all from Livingston, and Jodie (Ted) Dinsdale of Roberts; his sisters, Dorothy Hooper and Margaret Brown of Big Timber; brother, John Nicholson (AnnaMae) of Bozeman; his 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, his parents, his brother Walter and an infant son Charles Frederick. We could not have had a father with more compassion, honesty and true dedication to his family and friends. He dearly loved to hear us laugh and was our "rock" in good times and in bad. The sound of his comforting words was a blessing to each of us. We will continue to take with us the beautiful memories, the funny stories and the wonderful lessons he taught us about life. Interment to be at Mountain View Cemetery.
