Selk, 85, of Scotia were Monday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran Church in Scotia with the Rev. Allen Fruendt officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Scotia. Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Foundation. Mrs. Selk died Friday at her daughter's home near North Loup. Mrs. Selk was born Oct 23, 1891 (sic), near Scotia, the daughter of Martin and Emma Becker Sautter. She grew to womanhood on a farm southeast of Scotia where she attended schools. After graduating, she took sewing lessons from a professional seamstress and later sewed for women of the area. On Dec. 20, 1917, she married Harry Selk at Scotia. He died in November of 1967. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Scotia American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Donita Cook of North Loup; one son, Willis of Buffalo, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren and six brothers.
