Description	:	Our mother and grandmother, Susie Loewen Friesen, was born to Abram and Sarah Loewen at Sunnyslope, Alberta, on April 14, 1907. She passed away in the Linden Nursing Home, Linden, Alberta, on July 29. 1980, reaching the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 15 days. Mother received her education at the Delft School, with some later training at the Olds College. She realized her lost condition, and, upon true repentance of sins, she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, on December 7, 1937. This faith Mother embraced until her end. Mother was married to John... Read More	Our mother and grandmother, Susie Loewen Friesen, was born to Abram and Sarah Loewen at Sunnyslope, Alberta, on April 14, 1907. She passed away in the Linden Nursing Home, Linden, Alberta, on July 29. 1980, reaching the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 15 days. Mother received her education at the Delft School, with some later training at the Olds College. She realized her lost condition, and, upon true repentance of sins, she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, on December 7, 1937. This faith Mother embraced until her end. Mother was married to John R. Friesen on May 2, 1943. They shared the joys and sorrows of life until April 16, 1972, when Father was taken from her side. To this union were born two children, Zara and Samuel. Mission work was of special interest to our parents. They served in Mexico, Holland, and Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. They endeavoured to serve God and the Church in the responsibilities given them. Mother enjoyed normal health until this spring, when she submitted to surgery. We soon realized that not all was well, but God granted her an additional time. We will treasure the memories of these last few months when she prepared for her final departure. There are many little acts of kindness rendered to her loved ones that will remain as pleasant memories. She leaves to mourn: me, her only daughter, Zara; and two grandchildren, Alberta and Samuel; as well as four brothers and three sisters. Her husband John and son Samuel predeceased her in death. We mourn the loss of our mother, yet are assured that she is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Funeral services were held in the Linden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, August 1, 1980, with the home ministers in charge.
