Funeral services will be held Friday, prayer service at the home at 10:30.a. m., followed by a service at the Quimby consolidated school at 10:45, the Rev. B. L. Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Silver cemetery. Boothby funeral home is in charge. The body will be taken to the home Friday morning from the Boothby funeral home. Addition obituary info provided by Swanlin #47730715 Susan Ann Gallentine was born Oct. 10, 1866 at Hicksville, Ohio and passed away at her home in Quimby Tueday Aug. 19 at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 9 days. She was one of a family of 11 children, eight of whom precede her in death. When she was a young girl the family moved to Marshalltown, Ia. In 1883 she married Alfred Monroe Glidewell. The couple had six children Charles, Elmer, Roy, Myrtle, Walter, and Rachel. She also assumed the duties of motherhood for the two children Amanda and Abe Glidewell, who had been born to Alfred Glidewell during a former marriage with her sister Sarah Gallentine. Two children precede her in death. Rachel in 1920 and Myrtle in 1945. In 1883 the Glidewells moved to their farm in Silver township where they resided until they moved to Quimby in 1915. She leaves to mourn her death, five sons, Abe and Roy of Cherokee, Elmer of Quimby, Charles of Pipestone, Minn., and Walter of Omaha and one daughter, Mrs. Amanda Hickman of Quimby. Other survivors are 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
