Read More	Newspaper Article: February 22, 1913 "Sudden Death of Mrs. Jasper Sill" (Susan Devine) The entire community was shocked and grieved by the sudden and entirely unexpected death of Mrs. Jasper Sill, which occurred Saturday, February 15, 1913, after an illness of only a week's duration and which had confined her to the house for three days. Death was due to blood poisoning, which originated from a slight scratch on one of her fingers. Prior to this sudden infection, Mrs. Sill had been in her usual health and had kept up with her social activities until only a few days before her death, which made the shock all the more severe. Largely Attended Funeral. The funeral services were held from the family residence Monday afternoon, and were attended by a host of friends and relatives, not only from Arlington, but from adjacent points. Dr. Philip Graif preached the funeral discourse from John 14, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd verses, his subject being, "Secret of the Untroubled Heart." The discourse was appropriate to the circumstances and to the life and virtues of the deceased. Beautiful hymns were rendered by Mrs. Wrage, Mrs. Moll, and Miss Christina Wilson. The casket, and indeed, the room, was banked with handsome floral offerings, which paid their silent yet eloquent tribute of love and respect. Among those from out of town attending the obsequies were: C.C. Sill and wife of Seattle, J. W. Sill and wife, and Michael Sill and wife of Snohomish; Mrs. I.N. Sill and son, Nelson, of Coupeville; Mrs. Marion Sill and Miss Rebecca Sill of Silvana; Miss Elsie Brown of Bellingham; Mrs. Jennie Major of Florence; Mrs. Susie Hancock and Mrs. John Gilchrist of Stanwood; Robert Kinnear and wife and John Hamilton of Evertt; Robert Airey and wife of Seattle, and Mrs. Martha Miller of Wickersham. The Pallbearers were Thos. Moran, P.L. Wallis, M.J. Dorgan, G.F. Earnhart, C.H. Wrage, and Elias Clum.
