Description	:	Sylvester was born in New York. His mother was born in Massachusetts and his father in New York. It is known he married his wife Martha in New York and they had three children of this union: Mary, Addison and (Ransom)aka Bernsom. Prior to South Dakota life in Alexandria, he and his wife had lived in Atkinson, Henry, Illinois in 1870. Children blessed to this union found: Mary(1836) Addison(1837)and Bernsom/akaRansom(1846). Prior to South Dakota life in Alexandria, he and his wife had lived in Atkinson, Henry, Illinois in 1870. Children blessed to this union found: Mary(1836) Addison(1837)and Bernsom/akaRansom(1846). By 1850 Mary had moved away. The family lived in Harford, Cortland, New York for fifteen years. The family moved to Illinois with Bernsom(Ransom) not with the family, Addison marrying and daughter Mary Allen single, living with Sylvester once again in 1870. Both Mary(died at 35) and Ransom(died at 15) had contracted Tuberculin disease and went on eternally awaiting Sylvester and Martha. Addison went with Sylvester and Martha to South Dakota sometime between 1870 and 1880. Family members may have relocated to live at that time. Sylvester and Martha as well as Addison are buried with family in Green Hill Cemetery. Mary and Bernsom/aka Ransom died of consumption(TB) passed early in life as they were not with family after 1870.
