Torrence, and burial took place in the McCune cemetery. Mrs. Overley, whose maiden name was Sylvia McLane, was born in Ohio, January 24, 1843. While still a child she moved with her parents to Cold-water, Michigan, and was married to Martin Brown who died in 1864. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Ida Casey who resides in Oklahoma City. Later she moved to Illinois, where she was united in marriage to Elisha Overley October 22, 1868. In 1873 the family came to Kansas and settled on a farm six miles northeast of McCune, where they lived until 1907 when they moved to McCune, and this city was Mrs, Overley's home until her death. She leaves to reverence her memory, husband, two sons, C. E. Overley, Tulsa, Okla., R. R. Overley, McCune, her daughter, Mrs. Casey of Tulsa, Okla., eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two brothers. One granddaughter, Miss Edith Overley made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Overley. She was converted at the age of fifteen and united with the M. E.' Church at Coldwater, Michigan. Her membership was transferred to the McCune M. E. Church, and she remained in the faith until her death. In her last days she left the testimony that when the Master called she was ready to go.
