Read More	UNION COUNTY WOMAN RECEIVES FINAL SUMMONS Rites Held For Teckla Anderson On Wednesday Afternoon, Last Week Teckla Rebecka Anderson Was born July 13, 1880, in Warren Penn. Her parents both died when she was a small child. Her father's brother and her mother's sister, Rev. and Mrs. Anderson, took her and raised her with a family of five of their own children. Her aunt, Mrs. Anderson, died when the children were still quite small, leaving Rev. Anderson to care for them and teach them to help care for the home and themselves. In 1897 Rev. Anderson came from Iowa, together with his family, to become the pastor of the Union Creek Lutheran Church. Teckla and her cousin, Amanda, were the housekeepers and cared for the younger children, also being members of the choir. In 1899 Rev. Anderson died, leaving the children alone to shift for themselves. Teckla had been the housekeeper and it was easy for her to find employment in homes when help was needed, and she was a most efficient worker. She was confirmed at the age of fifteen and remained a faithful member of the church. Her church came first in her life and she never missed services or the church activities if she was able to attend. The last few years her health failed her and she felt keenly the fact that she had to give up most of her work. She was a most patient sufferer, never complaining. She made her home with her son, Albert Anderson, and family, where she was lovingly cared for. She attended prayer and Bible study at church on Wednesday evening, March 18; did not fell so well Thursday, but was better and up some Friday and Saturday. She was found very ill Sunday morning and a doctor was called and becoming worse in the afternoon, the doctor was called again; but passed peacefully away Monday morning, March 23, 1942 at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 10 days. Besides her son, she leaves to mourn her departure four cousins, Oscar, of Newport, Rhode Island; Esther, of San Francisco, Calif.; Hilma and Jesse, in Chicago, ILL. Amanda preceded her in death several years ago. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, March 25, from the home and at the Union Creek Lutheran Church, Student Pastor Mr. E. Strinden officiating. She was laid to rest in the beautiful Union Creek cemetery. She will be greatly missed by her son and family and her many friends. Peace to her memory.
