Mrs. Nafe was born April 9, 1893, the daughter of Walter and Jesse McEwen Deming, near Washta. She married Miles Victor Nafe at her home February 26, 1913, and lived in the Pierson community her entire life. Mr. Nafe passed away in 1961. (Tena Grace Deming) Nafe, 81, died at a Kingsley nursing home May 6, 1974, after a long illness. Mrs. Nafe was born April 9, 1893, the daughter of Walter and Jesse McEwen Deming, near Washta. She married Miles Victor Nafe at her home February 26, 1913, and lived in the Pierson community her entire life. Mr. Nafe passed away in 1961. She was an active member of Meadow Star United Methodist Church and a member of the church quilters. She was a member of Pierson Womens Federated Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens. Funeral services were held May 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Meadow Star Church with Rev. Forest M. Lay officiating. Interment was in Grand Meadow Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Lloyd and Dale, one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Janet) Lindsay, one sister, Mrs. Olive England of Sioux City, two brothers, Lawrence of Sioux City and Clifford of Washta, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, one grandchild, one sister and five brothers.
