He was the youngest son of the late Austin Pearl and Lulu Virginia Sophronia (Grimes) Sanders. He married Bertha Virginia Davis on 19 Jun 1943 at Oakland, Garrett County, Maryland. He proceded his wife of fifty-seven years in death. Read More	Thayer Walter Sanders, 79 of Mountain Lake Park died Tuesday at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. He was the youngest son of the late Austin Pearl and Lulu Virginia Sophronia (Grimes) Sanders. He married Bertha Virginia Davis on 19 Jun 1943 at Oakland, Garrett County, Maryland. He proceded his wife of fifty-seven years in death. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and caprenter, having worked for Delsignores (Buffalo Coal Company), William Shirer Construction Company, and Devlin Inc. He attended the Oak Park Church of the Brethren and was a member of the Camp 11, Woodmen of the World. While at a Sunday dinner at the farm of his parents, he saw a skunk go into a stump in the yard, so he picked up a shot gun and went after the skunk. He stepped up on the stumps rim and shot into the stump. He was informed by his wife, that he would be eating Sunday dinner on the porch. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, Bertha (Davis) Sanders, four daughters, one son, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and an addidional family member, Robert Fint, Hawaii.
