Description	:	Thelma Louise was born on November 20, 1928 to John and Violet (Blanchard) Myers in Waterloo. She was baptized at the Hagerman Baptist Church and confirmed at Thnity Lutheran Church. She attended grade school in Waterloo and obtained her GED when she moved to Harlan. July 11, 1948, Thelma was united in marriage to Jasper "Jess" Blaine at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. She was baptized at the Hagerman Baptist Church and confirmed at Thnity Lutheran Church. She attended grade school in Waterloo and obtained her GED when she moved to Harlan. July 11, 1948, Thelma was united in marriage to Jasper "Jess" Blaine at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. They became parents to six children: Linda, Violet, Connie, James, Betty, and Larry. When her children were older, she took jobs at Mickels Family Restaurant and at the Chicken Hut in Harlan. She also watched children in the community during the day while their parents were working. Just six months shy of their fortieth wedding anniversary, her husband Jess died in January of 1988. Several years later, Thelma met Rev. Norman McCallum. They were married on June 3, 1995 in Harlan and she inherited three step-children: Brenda, Rosalind, and Peter. She enjoyed attending church services and they would split their time between the Methodist Church and the Congregational Church. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thelma died on Tuesday, March 24,2015 at the Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, having attained the age of eighty-six years, four months, and four days. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Jess Blaine and Norman McCallum; daughter Connie Henkelman; great grandchildren: Jaime Lee Sweatman and Blake Thomas Schuler; sisters Anna Myers and June Rider; and brother John Myers. She is survived by her children: Linda and her husband David Frain of Omaha, NE, Violet and her husband Allan Weiss and Jim Blaine and his wife Marsha all of Cross, SC, Betty Briggs and her friend Bob Summerfield of Harlan, and Larry Blaine and his wife Bonnie of Harlan; step-children: Brenda and her husband Tom Kelly of Grand Junction, CO, Rosalind and her husband Dennis Neeland of Great Bend, KS, and Peter McCallum of Wichita, KS; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great- grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sister Darlene Soldwisch of Shell Rock; other family members and friends. Pastor Donna Ewert officiated the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan. Vocalist was Lee Nelson. Serving as casket bearers were Larry Blaine, Jeremy Briggs, Thomas Schuler, Douglas LeKander, Nicholas Hoversten, and Wesley Frain. Burial was held at the Harlan Cemetery.
