He died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Plainview Manor. Theodore (Ted) E. Kloke was born Dec. 4, 1931, at the Plainview hospital. He was the son of Theodore A. and Myrtle (Krohn) Kloke. He died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Plainview Manor. Theodore (Ted) E. Kloke was born Dec. 4, 1931, at the Plainview hospital. He was the son of Theodore A. and Myrtle (Krohn) Kloke. He attended St. Joe's Catholic School and graduated from Pierce High School in 1949. In 1950, Ted enlisted in the Air Force. After four years of service he was discharged. He then attended Norfolk Junior College and graduated in 1956. On April 12, 1956, he married Shirley M. (Daniel) at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierce. In April of 1957, Ted became employed at the Norfolk Post Office for 17 years. He then was appointed postmaster in Center for four years. After this, he was appointed to the Plainview Post Office until he retired in 1987. Ted belonged to the American Legion Post 148 and the VFW Post 1644,the DVA (Disabled Veterans of America) and the NAPUS (National Organization of Postmasters). He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing. Survivors include his children: Terrence Kloke of Lincoln, Todd and Dawn Kloke of Folsom, Calif., Troy and Heather Kloke of Omaha and daughter Cynthia of Norfolk; five grandchildren; a sister, Joyce of Pierce; a brother, Virgil (Vonda) Kloke of Sun City Center, Fla.; and sister Jacque Oetker of Potts Boro, Texas. Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, and by his parents.
