Read More	Thursday, September 4, 1947 The Genoa Leader Times Genoa, NE Pg #1 Theodore Wallace Blair Theodore Blair Dies Suddenly While At Work Native of Illinois Lived Here 42 Years Theodore Blair, 87, farmer living northeast of Genoa died suddenly at his home Friday morning following a heart attack. Mr. Blair's health had been disturbed with a slight heart ailment since last spring but he kept busy with his work. Last Friday forenoon as he was working with his tractor he walked over to the windmill to quench his thirst, when suddenly the heart attack overcame him, and he died within a few minutes. Funeral services were held in the Augustana Lutheran Church, Monday afternoon September 1st, with Dr. C. O Gulleen officiating. A men's quartet consisting of Clifford Lawson, Dwight Nelson, Gene Fortune and Lawrence Pearson rendered two numbers: "Good Night and Good Morning" and "In The Garden". Mrs. Norman Kruse served at the piano. Internment was in Valley View Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ben McCaslin, Walter Dannelly, Fred Strain, Will Travers, Carl and Frank Zipf. Theodore Wallace Blair was born in Kewanee, Illinois, July 22, 1880. When he was a mere boy his parents moved to Silver Creek Nebr. in 1884. Here he attended school and grew to manhood. On December 20, 1905 he was married to Hattie Lutzke and settled on a farm in the Genoa community west and northwest of the town, where he lived and farmed for forty-two years. The marriage was blessed with eight children of whom one boy preceded his father in death. He was at his demise 67 years, one month and seven days old. He is survived by his wife Hattie; five daughters: Mrs. Clara Long, St. Edward; Mrs. Grace Travers and Mrs. Mary Boardman of Fullerton; Mrs. Marjorie Christenson of Leandro, Calif: Mrs. Myrtle Bivens, Silver Creek; two sons: Vernon of Fullerton and Roland at home; two brothers; James of St. Edward and David of Elyria, Nebraska and fifteen grandchildren.
