The Tipton Advertiser Feb 17, 1927 WILLIAMS--Theodore Williams, son of Isaac and Susan Williams, was born July 12, 1845, in Coshocton County, Ohio, near Jacobsburg, and died Feb. 11, 1927, at his home near Tipton, Iowa, aged 81 years, 7 months. He was mustered into service July 12, 1863. The Tipton Advertiser Feb 17, 1927 WILLIAMS--Theodore Williams, son of Isaac and Susan Williams, was born July 12, 1845, in Coshocton County, Ohio, near Jacobsburg, and died Feb. 11, 1927, at his home near Tipton, Iowa, aged 81 years, 7 months. He was mustered into service July 12, 1863. On his eighteenth birthday he enlisted in Company G, 115th Infantry; was discharged from that service Feb, 25, 1864; re-enlisted and started to march from Indianapolis into Lexington, Ky; from there into Cumberland Gap; from there went to Greenville, Tenn., through the Clinch mountains. When they reached Greenville they were marched back to Lexington, and from there back to Indianapolis, where he was discharged. He re-enlisted again and was sent by boat from Cairo, Ill., to Baton Rouge, La., and New Orleans; then in 1865 to Mobile; was in the battle of Mobile and Spanish Fort; was then shipped back to Indianapolis and discharged Jan. 10, 1866. He then came to Shellsburg, Ia., in February, 1866. On New Year's Eve, 1868, he was married to Martha Meskimens at Shellsburg. To this union eight children were born; Charles of Neff, O.; Orlaf, Chester and G. W. of Tipton; Mrs. Roxa Dutcher and Isaac of Davenport, Ia.; Mrs. Mae Mayer of Cedar Valley; one son, Frank, preceded him in death. In 1885 the family moved to Cedar County near Cedar Valley, Ia., which has been their home since. His wife, Mrs. Martha Williams, preceded him in death Oct. 3, 1922. Mr. Williams was united with the Winnebrennarian church in 1880 under the pastorate of Rev. C. W. Evans, in what was known as the Sand Prairie Church near Shellsburg, to which communion he remained faithful to the end. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Mr. Zion Church. Rev. C. K. Hudson officiating, and interment was mad in the adjoining cemetery.
