Description	:	Chief Crow Feather and One Feather were her grandparents. Her mother was Iron Cedar Woman, her father Oliver LeClaire. She was born at Fort Lyman in the Dakota Territory. Sarah at 17, and Joseph at 46, had their first child William in 1853. She and Joseph Vilandre married January 7, 1854 in Fremont County, Iowa and had more children: Sophie, Louisa, Julia, Joseph William, Peter Paul, Mary, Moriah and Vetal, nine children in all. She was 5 months pregnant with her last child, Vetal, when Joseph met with an accident and died at age 62. She marred Clement Lamoreaux in 1870, apparently to help raise the children. Sarah and Clement were the same age, her first husband was almost 30 years her senior. Since Sarah and Clement never had any children I find myself wondering if their marriage was a marriage only for the convenience of Sarah and her children, because he has more children with Louise his first wife. After the death of this second husband, Clement, some men came to her and presented papers for her to sign saying "This will make you a rich woman". Being illiterate she didn't know what she signed, and she never saw them ever again neither did the promised money ever arrive. Clement Lamoreaux died in 1897 a wealthy man from his businesses and ownership in Denver, and gold from his mining in Colorado. Thus, Sarah may have signed away the inheritance because Clement's first wife, Louise's children inherited a great deal from him.
