Thomas was united in marriage 10 Mar 1848 in Grant County, Indiana with Elizabeth Ann Miller; daughter of Michael and Susannah (Newcomer) Miller. Thomas and Elizabeth were the parents of seven children, the first three born in Indiana and the remaining born in Illinois: 1. Jacob C. born 1848 2. Michael born 1850 3. John J. born 1851 4. Rebecca Jane born 1854 married John W. Barton 5. James Andrew born 1858 married Mary Lucinda Van Dorin 6. Angeline born 1861 married (#1) Yancy Bartlett Robinett and (2) Joseph C. Ledbetter 7. Elizabeth "Eliza" E. born 1866 married Hardman Phillip Fullerton Elizabeth passed away 04 Dec 1896 in Washington Township, Jewell, Jewell County, Kansas at the age of 67 years. She was laid to rest in Wallace Cemetery in Jewell, Jewell County, Kansas. Thomas passed away 26 Nov 1907 in Washington Township at the age of 79 years. He was laid to rest in Wallace Cemetery next to Elizabeth.
