Description	:	T.C. Cornett, former business man of Erwin, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, Tenn. While Mr. Cornett had been in falling health for many years, the immediate cause of his death was attributed to a heart attack. He was a native of Grayson County, Virginia and prior to coming to Erwin, was a merchant at Galax and Independence, Va. He was General Manager of Unaka Stores here for a number of years, before retiring because of ill health. He continued to live here until 1948, when he moved to Johnson City. While Mr. Cornett had been in falling health for many years, the immediate cause of his death was attributed to a heart attack. He was a native of Grayson County, Virginia and prior to coming to Erwin, was a merchant at Galax and Independence, Va. He was General Manager of Unaka Stores here for a number of years, before retiring because of ill health. He continued to live here until 1948, when he moved to Johnson City. He was a member of Centenary Church in Erwin. He was a 50 year member of the Independence Masonic Lodge and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. Mr. Cornett's wife died while the family lived in Erwin and a son, Lundy Cornett was killed in a sawmill accident shortly after returning home from World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Green and Mrs. Leno Burleson; two son, Hallock Cornett of Erwin and T.C. Cornett of Walla Walla, Washington; two brothers, A.L. Cornett and O.S.
