Funeral services for Thomas Edgar Caruthers, 73, who died Wednesday at the Smith Convalescent Home, Saxtons River, were to be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at Fenton & Hennessey’s Funeral Home. Rev. Gardner D. Cottle was to officiate. The body will be entombed for burial next spring in Saxtons River Cemtery [sic]. Mr. Caruthers leaves one daughter, Mrs. Betty Seagrove of Hillsboro, N. C., a son, Earl, of Burlington, N. C., and a foster son, Thomas Shue, of Hillsboro.
