Description	:	Died—At his home in this city Jan 10, 1910, Mr. Thomas Seery, after a lingering illness from paralysis in the 84th year of his age. The deceased was born in Fermanagh, Ireland, March 13, 1826; he came to America when a young man and located in the east. In Lowell, Mass., on July 1856; Thomas Seery and Mary Donahue plighted their troth at the altar and started out on life's highway rich in hope and energy but poor in purse. The deceased was born in Fermanagh, Ireland, March 13, 1826; he came to America when a young man and located in the east. In Lowell, Mass., on July 1856; Thomas Seery and Mary Donahue plighted their troth at the altar and started out on life's highway rich in hope and energy but poor in purse. In 1857 the great panic threw the cotton industry of Lowell into disorder and Mr. Seery was out of work. He and his young wife then went to Jersey City and there and in New York City he worked until 1864, when they came to Chickasaw county and located on a forty-acre tract for which they paid just $100. It was this homestead that Mr. Seery made the nucleus of what was later a 280-acre farm, and where his six children grew to manhood and womanhood. It might be stated here that all of these children are living and were at the gathering last Sunday. They are: Mrs. James Roarty, Thomas Seery, Jr., Mrs. John Smith, James Seery, Mrs. Dan Roarty and John Seery, all of this county. The funeral was held from St. Joseph's church Wednesday forenoon, when requiem high mass was said by Rev. Father Slattery. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
