Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today at Banta Torrey Funeral Home in Wilcox and before service time Tuesday at the church. He was born Dec. 27, 1906, west of Macon to Frank and Clara (Davis) Lynch. On July 22, 1929, he married Clara Krumenacher in Grand Island. She died July 23, 1980. On Aug. 13, 1981, he married Hazel (Davis) Maxon in Smith Center, Kan. She died June 1, 1993. Survivors include his son, Orvid of Wilcox; daughters, Janet Blank of Wilcox and Barbara Young of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Harold of Canon City, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and stepdaughters, Adrianna McClymont of Holdrege and Peggy Martines of Cleveland. Additional survivors include his sons-in-law, Delton Blank of Wilcox and Bruce Young of Sacramento; stepson-in-law, Warren McClymont of Holdrege; other relatives; and many friends. He attended Reil Rural School District 35 through sixth grade and then attended Moline Rural School District 52 where he graduated from the eighth grade in 1921. From 1924 to 1929, he lived in the Moline community where he worked on various farms. His family lived north of Bloomington until it moved to Wilcox in 1931. He worked on the Burlington Northern Railroad as a section hand for two years, and then he worked for the city of Wilcox from 1935 to 1944. He was employed by Straatman Manufacturing in Wilcox from 1946 to 1951. He then worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads until retiring in 1971. He was recognized for 20 years of service with the Department of Roads. He was appointed to membership in the Great Navy of Nebraska by Gov. James Exon in 1972. He was employed as Wilcox city clerk for 17 years. He was a member of the Nebraska Accounting and Finance of the League of Nebraska Municipalities and served as chairman in 1977 and 1978. He was a member of Wilcox Community Church and Wilcox Chamber of Com-merce. He was a member of the Wilcox Volunteer Fire Depart-ment for 46 years and was recognized for 44 years of fire service in 1972. He was a charter member of the Central Neb-raska Fireman's Association and was elected president in 1946. He was honored by Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben for outstanding firemanship. In 1976 and 1977, he was selected to be in the Bicentennial Edition of Who's Who in Nebraska. He was the exalted ruler of the Holdrege B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2062 in 1962, and he was district deputy grand exalted ruler of the Grand Lodge-Central District of Nebraska in 1972. He entered Holdrege Christian Homes about a year ago and lived there less than a month. He then went to live with his grandson Dave Blank at Funk. He entered Holdrege Memorial Homes June 13, 2006, and was hospitalized at Phelps Memorial Health Center for less than a day before his death. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his mother in 1949; his father in 1957; brother, Earl Lynch; sister, Pearl Anderson; daughter-in-law, Beth Lynch; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
