According to his probate file he was a resident of M precinct in Seward County and was survived by his wife and five children (all of Beaver Crossing): Mary Grant, age 45; Lizzie, 22; James, 21; William L., 20; John P., 17; and Thomas J., 15. ```````````` Weekly Review (Beaver Crossing, Nebr.), February 26, 1897, p. 3, col. 1 Harry Grant, aged 11 years, died Friday, February 19, at his home, just east of the Crossing, after an illness of but a few hours. He was at school the day before he died, and was taken with severe pain in the stomach, and during an effort to vomit, fell back dead. His father, Thomas Grant, died on the next day, Saturday, February 20. The death of Mr. Grant was due to a growth upon the head, which a Lincoln doctor removed last December, from the effects of which operation he never recovered. Deceased was about 45 years old, and has lived on a farm, which we believe he owns, about one mile east of this village, for several years. He leaves a wife and several children. The funeral of father and son was conducted at the Catholic church in this place, last Monday, and the remains were taken to Ulysses for interment.
