Description	:	Thomas G. HUGGINS, 73 passed away the 15th of January, 1999 at his home in Seattle. He was 73 years old and had been battling cancer for five years. Tom was born in Columbia Falls, Montana on June 23, 1925 to Homer H Huggins and Agnes (Radabah) Huggins. He was one of 15 children. He was 73 years old and had been battling cancer for five years. Tom was born in Columbia Falls, Montana on June 23, 1925 to Homer H Huggins and Agnes (Radabah) Huggins. He was one of 15 children. In 1936 his mother passed away and most of the children were sent to an orphanage at Twin Bridges. Montana. At the age of 14 he went to work with his dad in the woods, logging. At 18, he enrolled in three maritime schools. The U.N. Maritime School of California, the U.S. Maritime School of Florida, and the T.C. Maritime School of Louisiana. From there he enlisted in the Coast Guard and became a Merchant Marine, actively serving for nine years. He married in 1949 to Dorothy Marie Shepherd and ended his sailing career when his first daughter, Deborah was born in 1952. He worked en the Hungary Hone Dam and for Bonneville Power before his family moved out to Seattle, Washington. His second daughter, Teresa, was born in 1955. He first went to work for Bethlehem Steel and Lynch Manufacturing before starting work at Boeing in 1956. There he worked for 35 years, mostly in the Landing Gear Shop as an inspector, before retiring in 1991. He is survived by his siblings, Martin, Ed, Bill, Bob, Dennis, Effie, Helen, Millie, and Carol. His daughters, Deshawn Williams and Teri Longabough, and his grandchildren, Desiree Longabough, Rohini Kuhn, Sybil Kuhn, Anasuya Schwab, Jared Longabough, Rupa Schwab, Carlitos Williams and great grandchildren Eva Rose Kuhn and Killian Kuhn. Tom was a very conservative man having grown up in the Great Depression and spent very little on him, instead donating freely of his time and money to his friends and family. He will be missed very much by all that knew him. The Services will be held at 3 p.m. January 30th 1999 at Fairview Cemetery. 1215 Cemetery Read, Columbia Falls.
