Born July 29, 1947 in Batesville, Indiana he was the son of the late Hillard & Phyllis (Reece) Cooley. Cooley, age 65, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio. Born July 29, 1947 in Batesville, Indiana he was the son of the late Hillard & Phyllis (Reece) Cooley. He lived all his life in Franklin County, Indiana, and was a graduate of Brookville High School with the class of 1965. On March 7, 1992 he was united in marriage to Diana Halcomb, and she survives. He was retired from Visteon in Connersville where he had been employed for 38.25 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed motorcycling, and traveling on his motorcycle. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He also enjoyed woodworking and horseback riding, and was an avid fan of Indiana University Basketball. Besides Diana, his wife of nearly 21 years, survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Diallo of Connersville, Indiana; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff (Jennifer) Cooley of Connersville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Katie & Carrie Cooley and Thierno Diallo; three sisters, Cinda (Terry) Meyers of Whitcomb, Indiana; Linda (companion, Tim Knecht) Gaston of Whitcomb, Indiana and Karen (Howie) Mehaffey of Richmond, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Richard T. Gaston. Pastor Ron Wiley of the Whitcomb United Methodist Church will officiate the Funeral Services on Thursday, January 31, 2013, 12:00 Noon, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville. Burial will follow in Big Cedar Cemetery in Brookville. Family & friends may visit from 4 till 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Richard T. Gaston Memorial Scholarship Fund.
