Description	:	Thomas M. Evans Most of the years of his life were spent at farming and at this he was highly successful. He was an industrious worker and achieved a well earned reputation for his honesty and integrity. The deceased was always an observer of the Golden Rule and was one of the communities most upstanding Christian gentlemen. During his lifetime he made many treasured friends because of his many good qualities. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Sterling Evans and one son, Jesse D. The deceased was always an observer of the Golden Rule and was one of the communities most upstanding Christian gentlemen. During his lifetime he made many treasured friends because of his many good qualities. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Sterling Evans and one son, Jesse D. Evans, prominent young man in this city and a teacher in the Crisfield High School. Three brothers, Merrill Travis Evans, Harry Evans and Carroll Evans; and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Stevenson and Mrs. Dora Tawes, all of this city, also survive. Funeral services were held from his late home at Mariner's on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. W. C. Mumford, pastor of Mariner's M. P. Church, was in charge of the services. The funeral was one of the largest ever held at that church and the many floral pieces contributed by his friends attested to the high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. Pallbearers were Walter Handy, Tony Sterling, Schafter Horsey, Walter McCready, of Annapolis, Ira Sterling, Ernest Hickman. Interment was in the Crisfield cemetery.
