Story [1891-1970] Obituary Prof. Thomas Story died on Thursday, March 5th, 1914, at his residence in Barnesville, this county, after a lingering illness, aged 79 years. Prof. Story was a native of Hancock, Md., but in 1840 went with his parents to Indiana to reside. In 1859 he came east and for a number of years was a clerk in the U. S. Treasury Department, Washington. In 1869 he came to this county and since that time has been one of our most esteemed citizens. He was a deputy clerk for the circuit court for this county under Capt. James Anderson and a prominent teacher in the public schools on this county. He is survived by his second wife and three children, Frank and Edward Story and Mrs. Taylor Darby. The funeral services were held at this home at 11 o'clock on Sunday morning last, with interment in Monocacy Cemetery. Estate Probate The Frederick Post - March 19, 1914 The will of Prof. Thomas Story, who died a few days ago at his home at Barnesville, has been probated. the entire estate is left to the widow, Mrs. Sadonia Story, for life. Upon her death, Edward H. Story, a son, gets a house in Barnesville. Mrs. Helen Darby, daughter of the testator, a piano and the other personal property is to be equally divided among Edward H. Story, Mrs. Darby and a grandchild of the testator, Rebecca Fields. The son, Edward, is instructed to pay $100 to Frank W. Story, another son. The will was executed September 29, 1910. Mrs. Story is executrix.
