He never married OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, April 15, 1948 THOMAS STEVEN DANIELS Thomas Steven Daniels was born September 19, 1881 in Ottercreek township, near Norwood, Iowa, and passed away April 10, 1948, at the age of 66 years, six months and 21 days. He was the son of John and Martha Daniels, pioneer residents of the community. Tom, as he was known to his countless friends, received his education in the rural school near his home, then followed the vocation of farming and spent his entire life on the farm where he was born. Mr. Daniels was of a quiet, retiring nature, a splendid neighbor, honest and upright in all his dealings and his life was lived according to the Golden Rule. In his passing the community has lost one of its best citizens. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marion. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Josie Mumford, who, with her husband, Elmer, lovingly cared for him in his last illness. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mrs. Marion Daniels. Funeral services, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Sargent, were held at the Miley funeral home, Monday, April 12, at 2 p.m. Burial was made in Norwood cemetery. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
