Description	:	Mr. and Mrs. Tom Prather were killed in an automobile accident near Mouat mine above Absarokee early August 13th. Mrs. Prather was killed instantly. Tom lived until 1pm that day. A passenger Mrs. Russell Carlson was not seriously injured. Olga Lien Prather was born in Big Timber July 17, 1913, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Lien. She attended both grade and high school in Big Timber. She was married to Thomas Prather in February 1934, and they resided on the Prather ranch west of Big Timber for some time. Thomas Prather was born August 11, 1908, in Big Timber and he also attended grade and high school here. Both Mr. and Mrs. Prather were employed in Yellowstone park for several seasons, Mr. Prather working as a plumber and truck driver there. Mrs. Prather operated a hotel and cafe in Gardiner for two years. Mr. Prather entered Military service March 1942, at which time Mrs. Prather moved to San Diego to work in a defense plant until her husband was discharged in 1944. They moved back to Big Timber where Mr. Prather was employed as a mechanic at the Bouse garage and Mrs. Prather taught school. Mrs. Prather's survivors include 7 sisters, Mrs. Robt. (Kaia) Cosgriff, Mrs. Arne (Bertha) Grosfield, Mrs. Tommy (Sigrid) Jarret all of Big Timber; Mrs. Joseph (Sofie) Stratton of Dayton, Wa., Mrs. Bud (Jennie) Madden of Butte, Mrs. Don (Elizabeth) Simpson of Billings, and Mrs. Jack (Anna) Bennett of Tacoma, Wa.; 4 brothers, Sam, George, Alfred and Bernard Lien all of Big Timber, an Aunt Sarah Wirak of Billings and number of newphews and nieces. Mr. Prather is survived by his mother, Mrs. Wilbur Officer of Livingston; one brother Ralph B. Prather of Big Timber and one niece and nephew.
