She was born at Dad's Corner/Holliday, Texas, Jan. 18, 1934, to Robert Lee and Harriet Jane (Herd) Craig. They lived in Holliday until 1946, when they moved to Stinnett, TX. She was graduated from Stinnett High School in 1951. After graduation she moved to Wichita Falls, TX. She married Billy G. Krout in Tucumcari, New Mexico, June 1, 1952. When he went to Germany with the US Air Force, she moved to Arkansas City, KS. They also lived in the Kansas City, MO, area and in 1966 moved to Chanute, KS, before moving to Humboldt, KS, in 1969. She liked to sew and cook. She was very involved in the Southeast Kansas Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, and a member of First Baptist Church of Humboldt. She was president of the Senior Citizens Council of Humboldt and vice president Area Council of Senior Service of Southeast Kansas. She was the driver for General Transportation of Senior Services of Southeast Kansas Inc. for several years. She had been active in the Al-anon group for many years. She is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; four daughters and three sons: Janet (Bryan) Vaughn, Seale, AL, Karen (Tim) Clounch, Terry "Butch" (Colleen) Krout, Humboldt, KS, Leyona (Shane) Burris, Chanute, KS, Janie (Kevin) Hytry, Stevens Point, WI, and twin sons, Grant and Lee Krout, Humboldt, KS; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bettie Jane Gilbert, Wichita Falls, TX; two brothers, Robert L. Craig, Milburn, OK, and Willis L. Craig, Lawrenceville, GA; and her husband's family, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A son, Robert "Bob", a brother, Frank Craig, a granddaughter and a great-grandson died earlier. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Humboldt, Kansas. The Revs. Brian Smith and Otis Crawford will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
