She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, two sons and two Daughters, Marlin of Ft. Assiniboine, Delbert of Barrhead, Mildred (Mrs. C. H. Skocdpole) Eckville, Albert, Della (Mrs. William Carty) of Eureka River. Mrs. Strand was born Tillie Alfreda Peterson at Oakland, Nebraska on August 12th, 1884. She was married to E. Strand on May 9, 1908 at reliance, South Dakota where they lived for several years. In 1912 they came to the Mosside district and Fort Assiniboine. In 1914 they moved back to South Dakota and Iowa where they lived until September 1928. They then returned to Canada and homesteaded at Freeman River, where they resided until 1943 when they moved to Fort Assiniboine until 1953 when they moved to Barrhead and lived until the time of her passing. Mrs. Strand was very active in Community life and was a member of several organizations and clubs. Funeral services were held from the Barrhead United Church on Monday, February 13th at 2:00p.m. with a grave side service at the family plot in Hillcrest Cemetery at Fort Assiniboine. Rev. Allan Scott officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Johnson, Henry Vandervaate, L.C. (Buck) Craig, Christ Matison, Harold Monson and Roy Olson. Barrhead Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
