Description	:	On August 17, 2000, Bill Rundle and Traci Kenley went to drive 45 miles to Traci's parent's farm in rural Edgar, Nebraska, and the pair had vague plans to visit Traci's boyfriend later that evening. Read More	On August 17, 2000, Bill Rundle and Traci Kenley went to drive 45 miles to Traci's parent's farm in rural Edgar, Nebraska, and the pair had vague plans to visit Traci's boyfriend later that evening. Bill and Traci had met six months earlier and by all accounts their relationship was platonic. They got together at around 4:30pm to retrieve a second set of keys she needed, and Bill wanted to look at a truck that Traci's father had been selling. At around 10:30pm, the two said goodbye to Traci's parents, got into Bill's new black Jeep Wrangler Sahara and headed for the highway. At around 10:45pm, the two stopped at the Country Store in neighboring Clay Center to go to the bathroom and get something to drink, and they left at 11pm after Traci called her boyfriend Doug Wolfe. Traci asked Doug what his after-work plans were and he said he was thinking about getting a beer at a local lounge, and Traci said that she and Bill would plan to meet him at 12:30am and they said goodbye, and it was the last time anyone heard from either Traci or Bill. The next day, neither Traci nor Bill showed up for work and nobody could understand why they weren't there and what happened to them. The Clay and Adam's Police Departments conducted search parties around the area where Traci called Doug. Authorities believed that Bill may have crashed into a nearby cornfield but a search turned up nothing. Police considered the possibility that Bill and Traci left voluntarily, but all they had was the money that they had taken with them, and since they disappeared, none of their ATMs, credit cards, or phones have been used. Then, one week later, Bill's hat mysteriously appeared at the same intersection that Traci had called Doug before they vanished, which was strange because it had been searched the week before but had not turned up then, and now they believe that the hat may have been planted there. Another strange thing about the case is that Bill's car has never been found. If they had been murdered, where would the car be, but if the had left voluntarily, then the car would probably be still with them. However, nobody knows what really happened to either Bill or Tracy. A $5000 reward is being offered in the case. Suspects: None known Extra Notes: This case originally ran on the July 5, 2001 episode. This case also ran as an episode of a Court TV series. Results: Solved. Two years after they vanished, Bill and Traci were found and discovered to have died in an accident. Authorities believe they mistakenly turned off a narrow private road and while turning around may have rolled into a feedlot runoff pond where they remained unnoticed for two years. During a drought that lowered the water level, their jeep was noticed by a farm worker on July 31, 2002. Neither Bill or Tracy were wearing seat belts, and damage to the front of the jeep was consistent with a low-speed impact with water. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Edgar Cemetery. Traci was born Sept. 23, 1971, to Bill and Sharon (McLaughlin) Kenley in Hastings. She lived on a farm southeast of Edgar, then moved to Hastings after high school graduation. She attended Edgar Elementary School and graduated from Sandy Creek Junior-Senior High School in 1989. She attended Central Community College in Hastings and also earned a bachelor's degree in human and social service administration from Bellevue University. She worked at Good Samaritan and Martin Luther Home in Hastings. At the time of death she had been employed at the Hastings Regional Center as a psych technician since 1991. Survivors are her parents, Bill and Sharon Kenley, Edgar; three brothers, Bill and Dick, Edgar, Dan, Fairbury and one sister, Mrs. Gene Runge (Linda), Hutchinson; and special friend, Doug Wolfe, Hastings. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Helen McLaughlin, Edgar, and William and Grace Kenley, Edgar. Williams Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.
