Description	:	William (Bill) Kenley, 85, departed this life Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Rose Brook Care Center, Edgar, Nebraska. Bill was born on September 3, 1925 near Oak, Nebraska, the son of William Merton and Vivian Grace (Matson) Kenley. Bill later moved with his parents to the farm near Edgar, where he resided the rest of his life. Bill graduated from Davenport High School in 1943. Bill was born on September 3, 1925 near Oak, Nebraska, the son of William Merton and Vivian Grace (Matson) Kenley. Bill later moved with his parents to the farm near Edgar, where he resided the rest of his life. Bill graduated from Davenport High School in 1943. Bill worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot in Hastings and Oak grocery store while helping his parents on the farm. Bill, a World War II Army Veteran, served his country from January, 1945 through October, 1946. He was stationed in South Korea. Bill was a member of the American Legion and Edgar Rural Fire Board. Bill was united in marriage to Bonnie Matson November 2, 1946. She passed away September 28, 1964, leaving three children: Linda, Dick and Dan. Bill married Sharon McLaughlin March 18, 1967. From this union two children were born: Billy and Traci. Bill farmed until retiring. Other places he worked were at Nuckolls County ASCS as a crop surveyor, Superior-Deshler Anhydrous spraying during the summer months, doing masonry work at Hastings and locally, and helping to straighten stones at the Edgar Cemetery. Bill will be long remembered for his love of antiques, and especially antique cars. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing, gardening, being outdoors, and especially being with his family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gilbert and sister, Elaine Williams, son, Billy and daughter, Traci. Survivors are: his wife Sharon Kenley of Edgar, three children: Linda Runge and husband Gene of Hutchinson, Kansas, Dick Kenley and wife Chris of Edgar and Dan and wife Vicky of Fairbury, nine grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
