Read More	Vaclav Novotny Dies At His Home Near Clutier Vaclav Novotny, prominent pioneer resident of the Clutier community, died shortly after noon last Friday at his home west of town. He was 70 years old. Mr. Novotny had been suffering for several years from asthma, but only during the last two or three months was his condition considered serious. Death came suddenly while he was preparing to be shaved. A large crowd attended the funeral service, held Monday morning at the home and at St. Vaclav church which the decedent helped to found thirty-five years ago. The Rev. Father Thomas Vopatek, of Clutier, was in charge. Burial was in St. Vaclav cemetery. Mr. Novotny came to America from Europe when he was 6 years old. His parents first settled at Quarry, in southwest Tama county, later buying the farm near Clutier which the decedent operated after them and which was his home throughout the entire remainder of his life. Mr. Novotny’s wife, whose maiden name was Antonia Zmolek, died about six years ago. Eight children survive Joseph V., Vitus, Vincent, Mrs. John Hadacek, and Mrs. L. V. Chalupnik all are residents of the Clutier community. One son, Frank, and two daughters, Madalene and Frances, live at home. The latter has been employed for a number of years in the Kubalek department store here. Mr. Novotny also leaves a brother, Anton Novotny, of Osage, Ia., and one sister, Mrs. Anna (Martin) Kunch, near Toledo, together with five grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Anton Novotny and son, John, were here from Osage for the funeral Monday. Two sisters, Mrs. John Kriz, Clutier, and Sister Zita, Chicago, preceded Mr. Novotny in death. Mr. Novotny was a member of St. Joseph’s society of Catholic Workmen, the Rosary Society of St. Vaclav church, and the Foresters lodge in Clutier. He was a kind friend and a generous neighbor who held the respect of all those who knew him. [Traer Star Clipper; 3 November 1933] Clutier Man’s Will Divides His Estate Among Six Children Vaclav Novotny’s Property to Be Held Intact for Five Years - Daughter Is Trustee Vaclav (Vince) Novotny, who died last week at his home, signed a will September 23 of this year. All his estate is to be handled by a trustee for a term of five years, and during that time no collection of the principal is to be made. However, the trustee is to collect all interest due and to hold such funds in the trust account. The trustee may extend any of the notes due at the date of the death of the decedent, for a period of one year, but not more than five such extensions shall be made. However, if any of the notes or obligations are liable to be barred by the statute of limitations, immediate payment is to be demanded. The will appoints the daughter, Anna Chalupnik, trustee, and no bond is asked. At the end of five years the trustee is required to immediately collect all debts, obligations and promissory notes due and owing the estate at the time of decedent’s death and distribute the estate in equal shares to the following children: Joe V. Novotny, Julia Hadacek, Anna Chalupnik, Vitus Novotny, Madaline Novotny and Frances Novotny.
