On Sept. 25, 1944, he married Irene George in Ilford, England. She died on Feb. 19, 1990. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 35 years, and served as postmaster. Mr. Squier was a member of BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336, VFW Post No. 3541, was a past officer of IOOF Lodge No. 69, and a past officer of Senior Citizens. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, or any activity they were involved in, and he enjoyed playing cards. Mr. Squier is survived by daughter Linda Richie, of Merino; son Robert Squier and wife April, of Sterling; sisters Veldean County, of Fort Collins, Myrl Kent, and Norma Dean Morgan and husband Donald, all of Sterling; special friend Elnora Alber, of Sterling; grand children Kevin Richie, of Merino, Brian Richie, wife Amy and son Jarrett, all of Denver, and Kelly, Jeffrey and Kristi Squier, all of Sterling; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Myrtle Craig and hus band Merris; Jane County and husband Alva; Evelyn County and husband Joseph, and Vura County and husband Sidney; brother Vryl Squier; brothers-in-law Joseph Kent and Louis County. Memorials may be made to the. VaDow Squier memorial fund.
