Mrs. Adkinson spent her entire life in Kansas and came to this community when a young girl, making her home with her uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Colwell. Read More	Glasco Sun, May 28, 1953, page 1: Mrs. George Adkinson Passes Away Mrs. Adkinson, whose maiden name was Venus Austin, was the eldest child of Elizabeth and Frank Austin, and was born July 17, 1871, in Lenexa, Kansas, and passed away Friday, may 22, 1953, in the St. Joseph hospital in Concordia, where she had been a patient the past month. Mrs. Adkinson spent her entire life in Kansas and came to this community when a young girl, making her home with her uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Colwell. On November 26, 1896, she was united in marriage to George B. Adkinson, who died October 7, 1937. To this union two babies were born, both dying in infancy. Mrs. Adkinson was a very home loving and hospitable person, enjoying her friends and her church. She spent the last several years in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lott of Minneapolis, where she received loving care and companionship. She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother, and leaves to mourn her passing, a sister, Mrs. Leota Beaver of Olathe; a brother, F.V. Austin, of Alma, Colorado; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mabel McGinley of Mona, West Virginia, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, May 25th at 2:30 p.m., in the Glasco Methodist church with Rev. Raymond Brown in charge. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery.
