VERA MAY LIEN, at the age of 91 years, of Southland Nursing Home, formerly of Warner, beloved wife of the late Mr. Colburn "Ole" Lien. Bon August 6, 1900 in Plymouth, Iowa, Vera moved to the Warner area with her parents In 1913. She resided at Warner most of her life, moving to Lethbridge in 1972 and residing the last four years at Southland Nursing Home. Vera received her schooling in Warner, then attended Normal School in Calgary. She taught for several years and met Ole while teaching at Warner. They were married In 1933 and farmed in the area until 1968. Vera, was active in the U.F.W.A., F.U.A. and Unifarm, and took an active role In the local school board, Womens Christian Association and the Order of the Royal Purple where she was a charter member of the Warner Lodge and a Past Honored Royal Lady. After moving to Lethbridge she worked with the Hospital Auxiliary and as a member of the Central Church of Christ. She will be sadly missed by her family, especially her grandchildren, who enjoyed the laughter and her interest in whatever they were doing. Vera was predeceased by her husband "Ole" Colburn Lien In 1968; one daughter-in-law Kathleen Lien in 1903; her parents, George and Cora Holroyd; two brothers: Claude and Dean; and a sister Ruth (Ted) Graham. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 22, 1992 in the CENTRAL CHURCH OF CHRIST, 716 23 Street North, Lethbridge with Reverend David Hockley officiating, assisted by Mr. Jim Chapman. Interment will follow in Archmount Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Family Plot. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to a charity of their own choice. MARTIN BROS.
