Description	:	Verle B. Wilson, of Geneva passed away at the Thayer county Memorial hospital in Hebron, Neb., at 10:50 p. m. Wednesday, May 28, 1958, aged 70 years, 3 months and 24 days. Mr. Wilson had entered the hospital that forenoon for treatment of a heart ailment, but was not considered critically ill. Wilson, of Geneva passed away at the Thayer county Memorial hospital in Hebron, Neb., at 10:50 p. m. Wednesday, May 28, 1958, aged 70 years, 3 months and 24 days. Mr. Wilson had entered the hospital that forenoon for treatment of a heart ailment, but was not considered critically ill. He was reported feeling much better in the evening just before being fatally stricken. He was born February 4, 1888, at Auburn, Neb., the son of Andrew and May Wilson. Following the death of his father while Verle was a small child, he was placed in a children’s home. At the age of 13, he came to Geneva to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Curtis A. Smith. He was like a son to the Smiths and remained with them until their death. He was married to Anna Boyes of Geneva, September 11, 1909. To this union were born a daughter, Velma, Mrs. Robert Manning of San Diego, Cal., and a son, Clifford of Geneva. Mr. Wilson assisted Mr. Smith in various enterprises, including merchandising, farming and business matters. In later years, Verle was busy with property interests and doing many kindly acts for friends and neighbors. He was always willing to go out of his way to do a favor. With his close friend, he spent many happy hours fishing. He was a devoted husband, father and a sincere friend to all the many people who knew and loved him. He was a member of the Congregational church. His many neighbors will miss his friendly visits. Verle is survived by his wife, Anna, his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Manning, his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford L. Wilson, three grandchildren, Richard L. Manning, Kaye Frances and Verle Lynn Wilson. A sister, Velma Wilson and a brother, Claude C. Wilson, both of Kansas City, Kas., also survive. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, May 31, with Rev. Alden R. Sears officiating. Mrs. Robert Walstrom sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “In the Garden,” accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster. Pallbearers were Donald Battle, Harry Bordner, W. A. Domeier, A. E.
