Description	:	SMITH, ANNA SEYMOUR—Anna Seymour Ashton was born in New Jersey, November 9, 1858. She passed away in Hollywood, Cal., March 23, 1937. At the early age of nine years she moved with her parents to Glenwood, Ia., where she received her schooling and spent her girlhood. In 1883 her parents moved to a farm near Geneva, one year later coming to live in Geneva, in which town the deceased has since resided. She was united in marriage to Curt A. Smith of Geneva, February 8, 1885. One daughter, who passed away at the tender age... Read More	SMITH, ANNA SEYMOUR—Anna Seymour Ashton was born in New Jersey, November 9, 1858. She passed away in Hollywood, Cal., March 23, 1937. At the early age of nine years she moved with her parents to Glenwood, Ia., where she received her schooling and spent her girlhood. In 1883 her parents moved to a farm near Geneva, one year later coming to live in Geneva, in which town the deceased has since resided. She was united in marriage to Curt A. Smith of Geneva, February 8, 1885. One daughter, who passed away at the tender age of nine months, was born to this union. Mrs. Smith has been a faithful member of the congregational church for many years. During the last ten years she and her husband have made their winter home in California, where she was suddenly stricken March 17, suffering a stroke from which she did not rally. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Curt A. Smith, her foster son, Verle Wilson, three brothers, Charles Ashton and Frank Ashton of Geneva, Lee Ashton of Hollywood, Cal., and one sister, Mrs. Ella Gehr of Hollywood, Cal. Her brother Isaac and sister Emma preceded her in death. The funeral service was held at the Kritner chapel in Geneva, Neb., at 3:30 p. m. March 28, and was conducted by Dr. Edward W. Day, pastor of the Geneva Congregational church. Mrs. George Shuber, Miss Marjorie Thompson, Wayne Higgenbotham and Kenneth Helsey sang "City Four Square" and "Face to Face with Christ, My Savior". Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal, April 1st, 1937 page 1.
