She was born on March 24, 1922 in Sumatra, MT., the daughter of Elias and Julia Kluk. She attended schools at Galbreth and Sumatra graduating from Sumatra High School in 1940. On August 28, 1943, Veronica married Vincent "Red" Thomas in Forsyth and they settled in Hysham in 1948, where together they raised six children. Most important in Veronica's life were her God, her husband of 53 years, her family, and her friends, especially the ones from Sumatra where she grew up. She was a very faithful member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and active in the Altar Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary of Hysham. Veronica will be sorely missed by not only her children and grandchildren but by all the kids whose lives she touched while growing up in Hysham, where she was well known for sharing her Ukrainian Traditions. She was a perfect mom! She is survived by her husband Red of Hysham; her four sons, Bob of Sumatra, Ron and his wife Kathleen of Hysham, Rich and his wife Linda of Grapevine, TX, and Vince of Forsyth; two daughters, Judy and heer husband Ron Myers of Omaha, NE, Deb and her husband James Klessens of Joliet; Her grandchildren, Stacy Harper of Cornellus, OR, Sarah and Stephanie Thomas of Hysham, Ann Myers of Omaha, NE, Chad and Miranda Thomas of Grapevine, TX and Matthew Klessens of Joliet; as well as her sister Irene Person of Missoula. FUNERAL MASS: Wednesday, January 3, 1996, 11:00 A.M. St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Michael O'Hanlon, Celebrant Barr Edward, Speaker Interment will be in the Memorial Vale Cemetery, Hysham, MT. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is in charge of the arrangements.
