Description	:	Victor Bert Dugger, 91, of Salina, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Kenwood View Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 30, 1920, near Byron, Neb., the son of John H. and Ideal Dugger. He graduated from Chester High School, in 1937, and Hebron Junior College, in 1939. He attended University of California at Berkley from 1941 to 1943, majoring in civil engineering. He served in the United States Army 324th Infantry Division in World War II, in Europe. Read More	Victor Bert Dugger, 91, of Salina, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Kenwood View Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 30, 1920, near Byron, Neb., the son of John H. and Ideal Dugger. He graduated from Chester High School, in 1937, and Hebron Junior College, in 1939. He attended University of California at Berkley from 1941 to 1943, majoring in civil engineering. He served in the United States Army 324th Infantry Division in World War II, in Europe. After his discharge, he worked as a civil engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation for about 35 years, retiring in 1983. A resident of Salina over 50 years, he was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, VFW, Sunflower Lions Club, American Legion and Salina Coin Club and enjoyed camping, fishing and coin collecting. Victor was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Beckley, of California. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie E. Dugger, whom he married Jan. 22, 1948, in Concordia; four sons, George, of Lawrence, Ronald, of Topeka, and Thomas and Dan, both of Salina; and two grandchildren, Justin, of Manhattan, and Cole, of Oklahoma City, Okla. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 E. Beloit, Salina, with the Rev. Dr. Martha Murchison officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date in Chester Cemetery, Chester, Neb. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his church or American Red Cross, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina.
